Each piece is handcrafted one at a time using layered fabric appliqué, premium heavyweight garments, and carefully sewn details. Nothing is mass-produced, and no two designs are exactly alike.
After stepping back from a long corporate career, founder Sheila Cole returned to sewing. During a visit with her sister in Stowe, Vermont, she cut out shapes inspired by the mountains and stitched them onto a sweatshirt. That first piece sparked The Ninth Tide.
The name reflects Sheila's favorite number, nine, and the belief that no tide is ever exactly the same. Each one brings something new - a reminder to embrace the moment you are in.
